You can make a difference. This site was launched in April 2008. The focus was on urging the school to assist survivors. Six months later, the school sent a remarkable letter accepting responsibility and offering support.
The focus of this site now turns to bringing Washburn to justice.
Contact Washburn's employer. Washburn currently works for a national non-profit providing services for the blind and dyslexic. You may contact the regional director of the Boston office and encourage her to investigate whether Washburn worked unsupervised with young boys in the past. Her contact information can be found at the organization's website
Support your classmates. Many alumni are aware of a classmate who had a particularly close relationship with Ted Washburn. Take the approach that feels right for you and your classmate. You could raise the topic directly with your classmates. Some may not be comfortable, others may be relieved. Send in a testimonial. Even a brief one could be a great support for classmates.
"I ... accept the adult responsibility for the dreadful things I've done."
Ted Washburn in 1987, after receiving a suspended sentence.
